What time is it? Why it's Classy motherfucker O'Clock!

It's been a while. More that two weeks, it seems. Sorry about that. With exams and whatnot, I decided I had better divert my attention for the time being. It has however occurred to me that after my exams I have a rather large amount of time to kill. As such, I intend to persue some personal interests in the time that I have free before university. When I'm not working that is.

One of them is to kick up my writing again, you may have noticed that I had a brief spell of storydom before, as mentioned, I remembered I had more important things to be concerned with, for the time being.

Secondly, and this ties nicely into the first is to get some serious reading done. This one is conveinient because it can be done at work, in the luls between angry people demanding my time. I have a large pile of books to burn through, and there's enough scrap paper in the office to write down any creative bursts of inspiration this gives me.

Thirdly, and this is a big one, is that I intend to get more musical. Somewhere down the line I stopped doing what was previously a lot of music. Violin, Saxophone, Piano, and to a lesser extent Guitar, Bass and Singing, these were all superceded by education. And so I have decided to pick up one of these again. Violin and piano I quit (albeit years apart) because I found the music and learning style to be oppressive and creatively stifling. Violin I still hold to be fairly boring however, so that's out. We actually destroyed our piano some time last year, due to it kinda being a piece of shit and not worth reselling. I still have some of the bits, but that shit ain't playing no more. I have a keyboard but it doesn't really respond the way I would like. So the piano is out. This leaves, much to my pleasure, the saxophone.

So that's that planned. I'll be doing some more revision posts, but hopefully my style will let even students of other subjects enjoy and learn. For now I leave you with one of the pieces that reminded me to get back into music. Concentrated class.

The 30 Day Song Challenge - Day 6 - A song that reminds you of somewhere

This one is more of an artist as a whole, and again a bunch of artists could fall into the same catagory for the very same reason. The somewhere in question is the apartment my parents used to own in Portugal when I was very small. The reason is that they used to play these particular artists all the time as we didn't always being over too many CDs, and my parents, being the music loving people they are just played whatever they had. It is probably this that lead me to enjoy this sort of music, thus starting off my life long passion with the auditory arts. Out of these artists, including such greats as Bowie, B.B King, Iggy Pop, and Neil Young, I choose, for no particular reason, the chilled, the powerful, the legendary Lewis Allan "Lou" Reed.

Enjoy, bébé.

The Diary Of James (Acoustic Version)

Finally, my exams are over, well, at least until the summer exam season. Rather considerately a cold decided to hold off until they were over. I was in my last exam, physics, and I could feel my throat getting rougher. It was like the cold was peering over my shoulder as I discussed gravitational fields and capacitors whispering "I've played nice kid. I've been fair. Now it's time to pay your dues."

But I have created a concoction involving paracetamol crushed to a cocaine like consistency mixed into a warm squash drink, so I press on. Yeah, I have a cold, whatever. Exams are over, I think I did pretty well and that's damn a sweet feeling to have. Got started on the next physics unit already, and that's pretty awesome. But more to the point, it's good news for you pokemon fans. Already I am restarting my writing and planning of events to come. Some time at the start of February (after two of my players have done their psychology exams) sessions will restart, and that means more recordings, more laughs, and a new player! Excitement.

Anyway, hopefully with exams out the way updates will return as normal. Scratch that. Hopefully updates will maintain some semblence of consistency. That said, I've never maintained a blog this long without quitting, so that's a positive. Since this wasn't much of an update, per se, I suppose some kind of complimentary present is in order. So here's an old picture of me apparently looking like David Tennant.

Careful observers will see a guy in a yellow Star Trek uniform in the background.

Have a good week.
